In the Wings: Rudyard Kipling's The Just So Stories. Meet Elsie.

Sarah Weaver

Sarah Weaver plays Elsie in the Civic Youth Theatre production of Rudyard Kipling's The Just So Stories, the first show in the 2008-2009 CYT season. Elsie, Rudyard's daughter, has suffered a great loss. Sarah said the play is about Elsie recovering from the loss with the help of her friends, who act out several of Kipling's famous tales.

"I was in the CYT Summer Camp that put on The Pirates of Penzance. It was the first Civic show I had performed in and I had a lot of fun. I knew other people who were auditioning for this, and I thought it would be really fun to audition for a Civic play," Sarah said.

Sarah concluded by explaining why people should come to a performance of the play.

"There is a lot of effort going into this production. We are going to put on a good, entertaining play that the public will like," she said.

Rudyard Kipling's The Just So Stories opens Friday, October 10, and runs through Sunday, October 12. The Friday and Saturday evening performances begin at 7:00 p.m.; the Saturday and Sunday afternoon performances begin at 2:30 p.m. Tickets for adults are $10, tickets for youth are $5.
