Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette's committees, Part III.

Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette has several long-standing committees comprised of staff members, the Board of Directors and volunteers from the area that keep the organization running smoothly. Here are a few that may be of interest to volunteers looking to participate in Civic Theatre other than on productions.

Nominating: The Chairperson of the Board Nominating Committee is appointed by the President of the Board of Directors. This committee reports to the membership of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette and the Board of Directors.

The committee selects nominees to fill the vacancies on the Board of Directors as specified in the bylaws. It selects candidates to fill the needs of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette; publishes, in a timely fashion, the statement regarding nominations from the membership at large from Article VI, Section 3a of the bylaws; presents the slate of nominees to the membership at the annual meeting; and recommends candidates to the Board of Directors to fill unexpired terms.

Re-Branding: This committee is new for the 2008-2009 season. The Chairperson of the Re-Branding Committee is appointed by the 1st Vice President of the Board of Directors. The Managing Editor is the theatre staff's representative on the committee.

This committee is responsible for overseeing and developing the re-branding strategy for Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. Duties include reviewing bids from marketing companies to develop the re-branding plan; and working with the Managing Director and re-branding personnel to develop and implement the plan.

Season Planning: The Chairperson of the Season Planning Committee is appointed by the President of the Board of Directors. The Managing Director is the theatre staff's representative on the committee.

The committee is responsible for reading and recommending the MainStage and Civic Under the Stars season plays, and a holiday play when appropriate, for production during the next regular season. The committee also secures a director for each recommended production and presents the proposed season to the Board of Directors.

Volunteers who are interested in learning about becoming members of these committees should call 765-423-PLAY (7529) for more information.
