Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette's committees, Part IV.

Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette has several long-standing committees comprised of staff members, the Board of Directors and volunteers from the area that keep the organization running smoothly. Here are a few that may be of interest to volunteers looking to participate in Civic Theatre other than on productions.


Strategic Planning. The Strategic Planning Committee is a new committee for the 2008-2009 season. The Chairperson is appointed by the President of the Board of Directors. The Managing Director is the theatre staff's representative on the committee.

The committee is responsible for developing long-term strategic planning. Its duties include developing long-term planning with benchmarks and goals; conducting an annual review to measure goals and achievements; and assisting in the implementation of the planning.


Technology. The Chairperson of the Technology Committee is appointed by the Treasurer of the Board of Directors. The Office Manager is the theatre staff representative on the committee.


Tour of Terror. The Chairperson of the Tour of Terror Committee is appointed by the 2nd Vice President of the Board of Directors. The Managing Director is the theatre staff representative on the committee.

The committee plans and implements support of the annual Tour of Terror fundraising event. The committee's responsibilities include marketing the Tour of Terror; planning and scheduling the Tour of Terror in conjunction with the Tour of Terror director; planning social events in conjunction with the Tour of Terror; and recruiting and training volunteers for the Tour of Terror.


Volunteer Development. The Chairperson of the Volunteer Development Committee is appointed by the 1st Vice President of the Board of Directors. The Managing Director is the theatre staff representative on the committee.

The committee is responsible for recruiting and training volunteers. Its duties include planning and presenting training programs and workshops for volunteers; and establishing a regular and ongoing volunteer recognition program.
