In the Wings: Rudyard Kipling's The Just So Stories. Meet the cast.

Maggie Furtner

There are several actors and actresses performing in Civic Youth Theatre's production of Rudyard Kipling's The Just So Stories. Among them is Maggie Furtner, who plays Faith. Maggie says that Faith is a "smart-alecky" character.

"I'm interested in all Civic shows, but this show is different from others. It's about getting through hardships in a unique way. The action at the beginning of the show is fun, but there are more serious emotions later," she said.

"Rehearsals are fun and the cast is great; I'm making a lot of friends. 'Panda' Stedman is an amazing director," she said.

Maria Guido

Another cast member is Maria Guido, who plays Agnes.

"She gets hot-headed sometimes, especially at one of the other characters. But she really is sweet most of the time, and sometimes she's an airhead," Maria said. "She's funny."

Maria auditioned for the show because she wanted the chance to work with director Brent "Panda" Stedman and she liked the script.

"I liked the script because Elsie deals with her problems instead of just crying about them all the time," Maria explained.

Nathan Keiller

Nathan Keiller plays Bert in the production.

"Bert gets excited a lot at first. But like the other characters, he's trying to help Elsie get through some tough times," Nathan said. "Elsie gets through these times in a unique way. It's not all comic; there are serious emotions as well.
