Help send a youngster to Civic Youth Theatre summer camp

Every year more than 100 area youth participate in Civic Youth Theatre summer camps. There are camps available to youth ages 6-18. Campers will receive theatre training appropriate for their age level, spend hours on stage, meet new friends and have a good time.

Last year we added a four-week intensive camp. Campers at this four-week camp receive specialized training in voice, movement and acting. The camp culminates in a full production, open to the public. This year's production is Guys and Dolls, Jr.

Civic Theatre has always been dedicated to keeping the price of the camps low, and also to offer scholarships to those who cannot afford the cost. With the troubled economy and several recent area layoffs, we have received twice as many scholarship applications as usual. We would love to say yes to every scholarship application, but will not be able to this year without help. To that end, we have started a fund drive through Facebook, our first ever of this kind. The goal of this portion of the fund raising is $1,600. You can donate online by clicking on the following link:

If you would like to donate, but feel uncomfortable sending the money online, please call the Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette office at 765-423-7529, or send payment to 313 North 5th Street, Lafayette, IN 47901.

Thank you for your continued support of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette and our area youth.
