Fall 2009 Classes from Civic Youth Theatre: Playground to the Theatre

Civic Youth Theatre Director Melanie R. Buchanan will be teaching three classes in fall 2009: Playground to the Theatre, Intro to Musical Theatre and Molding the Older Actor.

Playground to the Theatre is for students in Grade 1, Grade 2 or Grade 3. Classes begin September 22 and run eight weeks through November 10, with classes from 4:30-5:30 p.m. every Tuesday.

Students will learn to take the imagination from the playground and use it in the theatre. They will learn basic acting techniques and characterizations, using skits and games. After the last class, there will be a small showcase for family and friends.

The cost of this class is $80 for a Civic Friend, $85 for a Non-Member. Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette has a limited number of scholarships available.
