2010 Young At Arts Civic Youth Theatre Intensive Summer Camp: Annie Jr.

Civic Youth Theatre Director Melanie R. Buchanan is registering students for the 2010 Young at Arts Civic Youth Theatre Summer Camps. One of the camps being offered is a 4-week intensive summer camp to create a full-scale production of Annie Jr. with lights, sound and costumes.

This is the third year Civic Youth Theatre has offered an intensive summer camp experience. Days will consist of classes in voice, movement and acting, and rehearsing Annie Jr. All camp participants will be cast in the show. Like last year, Fridays will be reward day. There will be different activities such as a talent show or watching a movie as a reward for working hard during the week. This camp is for students between the ages of 9 and 18. It runs June 28 through July 23, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The conclusion of camp will be evening performances on July 23 and July 24, along with matinee performances on July 24 and July 25. After the show on Sunday, July 25, all cast and crew members will strike the set, and a strike party / going away party will follow. The cost of the camp is $400.

Registration forms for the 4-week intensive summer camp of Annie Jr. will be accepted starting March 1. All spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students who are interested in being on the tech crew for Annie Jr. but cannot attend the 4-week camp can contact Melanie at 765-423-7529 to learn about possible open crew positions.
