In the Wings: Snow White. Meet Kayla Davenport.

Kayla Davenport plays the Queen in Snow White, the third production of the 2009-2010 Civic Youth Theatre season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The script is by J. Michael Straczynski.

Kayla makes her debut with this production.

"I've always wanted to be an actress and I love Disney, especially the princess movies. So when I saw that Civic Youth Theatre was doing Snow White, I really wanted to try out for it," she said.

Kayla described the Queen as evil, sinister and deadly.

"She tries to kill Snow White four times," she said. "The Queen wants to do away with Snow White because Snow White is more beautiful than she is."

Kayla concluded by describing what audiences will remember about the production.

"The audience will remember the show's quirkiness and how funny it is," she said.

Snow White runs from Friday, February 26 to Sunday, February 28 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre in downtown Lafayette. Shows on Friday and Saturday evenings begin at 7:00 p.m., and the show on Sunday afternoon begins at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for youth age 18 and under.
