In the Wings: Snow White. Meet Kiara Light.

Kiara Light plays Snow White in Snow White, the third production of the 2009-2010 Civic Youth Theatre season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The script is by J. Michael Straczynski.

Kiara makes her Civic Theatre debut with this production.

"I thought it would be cool to do the show. I know Missy Freels, the director, so I thought that would make me more comfortable auditioning," she said.

Kiara described Snow White and her dreams.

"Snow White wants something to happen but she doesn't know what that is," she said. "Snow White loves nature, and she's clueless and totally happy all the time."

Kiara concluded by explaining what an audience will remember most about this production.

"The audience will remember how quirky it is and that it's different than the Disney version," she said.

Snow White runs from Friday, February 26 to Sunday, February 28 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre in downtown Lafayette. Shows on Friday and Saturday evenings begin at 7:00 p.m., and the show on Sunday afternoon begins at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for youth age 18 and under.
