Civic Theatre conducts scholarship drive for summer camps and classes

It is that time of year again. We have received a number of scholarship applications to our sold-out summer camps and we want to keep our tradition alive of never turning anyone away.

Campers in the four-week intensive camp will receive vocal, movement, dance and acting training from Melanie R. Buchanan and Cecil Shoemaker five days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will use these skills to mount a full production of Annie Jr. in late July on Civic Theatre's Historic Monon Depot Theatre stage.

Other one-week camps are being held this summer for children ages 6-18. Improv camps, musical theatre camps and general theatre skills camps help give someone a step into the magical world of theatre.

We are trying to raise $2,000 to support the scholarship fund this year. Your gift will join $500 already raised toward this great cause, including a lead gift by the Lafayette Kiwanis Foundation.

Help us make a young camper's theatrical dreams come true.

To donate through our Facebook Causes Application, visit http://www.causes.com/causes/115173

You also can donate by sending checks directly to the office. Make checks out to Civic Theatre and put "Scholarships" in the memo line.

You can mail donations to:
Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette

Lafayette, IN 47901

Thank you for your support as Civic Theatre continues to provide artistic and educational opportunities to the Greater Lafayette area with these summer camps and classes.
