Announcing open registration for the 24-Hour Theatre Project

Director Melanie R. Buchanan has announced that registration now is open for the 24-Hour Theatre Project, the first production in the 2010-2011 Civic Youth Theatre season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette.

Registration is limited to 20 youth age 14-18 or at least entering their freshman year in high school. The 24-Hour Theatre Project will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 8.

24-Hour Theatre Project is a chance for the area youth to write, direct, costume and tech a show in a 24-hour time period.
  • Persons will remain locked in the theatre for the duration.
  • Food will be provided.
  • Bring any necessary items such as toothbrushes, combs, pajamas, sleeping bags and pillows.
  • No outside contact will be allowed, including cell phones, pagers or iPods.

On Saturday, October 9, after the 24-hour time period has passed, the theatre will be open to a paying audience to see what has been created.

Space is limited to 20 people. Register with Melanie by e-mail: cyt@lafayettecivic.org.
