More than 100 people attended Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette's Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner on Sunday, July 11, 2010. Held at the Tippecanoe County Amphitheater, this year's recognition dinner was a potluck picnic, with the main course prepared by Tracy Rosa of Adelino's Old World Kitchen. Volunteers provided side dishes and desserts that filled more than two large tables.
After everyone had eaten and had the opportunity to visit, Civic Theatre Managing Director Steve Koehler invited everyone inside the Amphitheater for the recognition program. First, he introduced Melanie R. Buchanan and Bob Sauers, the Civic Youth Theatre director and the box office manager / costume shop manager. Next, Steve recognized all volunteers who gave their time and energy this year on productions, in special events, as office volunteers and Board members, and more by asking them to stand.
Finally, awards were announced to recognize volunteers whose contributions were especially noteworthy during the 2009-2010 season.

Sue Lakin, president of Civic Theatre's Board of Directors, recognized Steve Martin with the President's Award. She noted that Board members support Civic Theatre in areas including fundraising, facility maintenance and improvement, education programming, season selection, marketing and finance.
Finally, Steve presented the Community Collaboration Award to Tracy Rosa and Adelino's Old World Kitchen. Tracy was the official caterer of the opening night party for all five MainStage productions in 2009-2010, was the catalyst for creating the "Wine, Women and Song" fundraiser, and provided rehearsal space to Snow White, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) and Cabaret.
Thanks to everyone for looking back on a terrific 2009-2010 season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. Onward to a tremendous 2010-2011 season!
