Fall 2010 Acting Classes from Civic Youth Theatre: Script Analysis and Characterization
Civic Youth Theatre Director Melanie R. Buchanan will be teaching three classes in Fall 2010: Aesop Theatre, Intro to Musical Theatre, and Script Analysis and Characterization.
Script Analysis and Characterization is for students in Grade 7 and above. The class begins September 20 and runs through November 8, with classes from 5:00pm-6:00pm each Monday. Classes will be held at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette at the corner of 5th Street and North Street.
This class will delve into script analysis as a way to learn more about characterization techniques from a classical point of view. This is not a performance class and is geared toward the more serious actor. This class will help students who plan on auditioning for the winter production of Macbeth and other challenging roles in the future for both Civic Youth Theatre and MainStage productions. Please note the time of this class is later than the others.
The cost of this class is $80 for members of Civic Theatre, $85 for non-members. There are a limited number of scholarships for classes.
