In the Wings: One Size Fits All summer workshop graduation show. Meet Mario Melendez.

For the first time in more than five years, One Size Fits All has been holding summer workshops to teach improvisation skills and performance techniques including pantomime, gibberish, characterization and scene work.

Now after several weeks of work, the students are prepared for their graduation – a full-format improv show at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. Mario Melendez is one of those students.

Question: When you aren't doing improv, what do you do?
Mario: I'm a Purdue student, majoring in philosophy and religious studies.

Q: What was your first exposure to One Size Fits All?
M.M.: I went to see a show that the group did with the Ship of Fools.

Q: Why did you take this workshop?
M.M.: Obviously, I want people to think I'm hot.

Q: What is your favorite game?
M.M.: Party Quirks.

Q: What makes you laugh?
M.M.: Things that are silly and outrageous.

Q: What question are you glad that I didn't ask?
M.M.: When are you going to graduate?

The One Size Fits All summer workshop graduation show takes place 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 28. It will be held at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette, on the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette. Tickets are $4.00 per person and can be ordered in advance by calling 765-423-7529. All proceeds go to Civic Theatre. The show is fun for people of all ages.
