Annoucing auditions: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Audition dates have been set for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, a subscriber-option show at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. Auditions will be held 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 17 and Monday, October 18 at the Civic Theatre office at 313 N. 5th Street in downtown Lafayette.

Director Steven Koehler seeks:
  • * Four men, ages 20-50
  • * Six women, ages 30-60
  • * Several (up to 20) youth, ages 4-16

Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script. Copies are available for check-out at the Civic Theatre office. Youth auditioners will be asked to sing one verse of a Christmas carol.

Callbacks may be held Wednesday, October 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

When the Herdman children - "the worst kids in the history of the world" - are all cast in the annual Christmas pageant, Mrs. Bradley has her hands full. Stolen communion wine (well, really grape juice), wise men with machine guns and a fire in the middle of the final rehearsal leave everyone anticipating the worst Christmas Pageant Ever. But this warm and funny show will leave audiences with the true spirit of the season.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever will open Friday, December 3 and run two consecutive weekends through Sunday, December 12, with a possible extension through December 19.
