Announcing auditions: Macbeth

Audition dates have been set for Macbeth, the third production in the 2010-2011 Civic Youth Theatre season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette.

Auditions will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 6 and Monday, February 7 in the historic Monon Depot Theatre at the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette.

Director Melanie R. Buchanan asks that everyone auditioning prepare a memorized Shakespearean or classic monologue, preferably from a tragedy or history. Everyone is asked to call Civic Theatre at 765-423-7529 for an audition appointment. There will be Saturday rehearsals for this production.

From the world's greatest dramatist comes the dark tale of greed, revenge and murder. "The Scottish Play" is the story of one couple's political aspirations and the depths of depravity that they will stoop to achieve them.

Macbeth will open Friday, April 8 and run through Sunday, April 10.
