In the Wings: Once Upon a Mattress. Meet Taylor Bundy.
Taylor Bundy plays Princess Winnifred the Woebegone in Once Upon a Mattress, the second production of the 2010-2011 Civic Youth Theatre season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. Melanie R. Buchanan and Laurie Russell are the directors.
Question: Why did you audition for Once Upon a Mattress?
Taylor Bundy: I did it at McCutcheon High School and it was really fun. It's kind of a cool show – it's weird and funny. It's my cup of tea.
Q: What words would you use to describe Princess Winnifred?
T.B.: She's crazy, sweet and kind of crude.
Q: What does she want to accomplish?
T.B.: She wants a man because she's looking for love. She wants someone to love her for her.
Q: Is there a message the audience will take home with them?
T.B.: You can be yourself and if you feel comfortable with yourself, someone will love you for that reason.
Once Upon a Mattress opens Friday, February 25 and runs through Sunday, February 27 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre at the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette. Friday and Saturday evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday afternoon matinees begin at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for youth age 18 and under.
