In the Wings: Out of Order. Meet Bill Knapp.

Bill Knapp plays The Waiter in Out of Order, the fourth production in the 2010-2011 MainStage season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The script is by Ray Cooney.

Question: Why did you want to be part of Out of Order?
Bill Knapp: It's a British comedy, a farce, and there were very good characters in the script. There were some that I thought would be a lot of fun to play.

Q: What does The Waiter want to accomplish at the start of the play?
B.K.: He's just doing his job but over the course of the play there are several opportunities to become involved with the action and make a lot of money.

Q: What will an audience most remember about this production?
B.K.: They will remember the slapstick comedy. I don't recall seeing a comedy with slapstick moments at Civic before, so it will be something different for the audience. And hopefully everyone in the cast will sound convincing and be able to pull off a British accent.

Out of Order will open Friday, March 11 and run three consecutive weekends through Sunday, March 27 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre at the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette. Friday and Saturday evening performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.; the Sunday afternoon performances will begin at 2:30 p.m.
