In the Wings: The Music Man Jr. Meet Jackson Olvera-Rowland.

Jackson Olvera-Rowland plays Marcellus Washburn in The Music Man Jr., the production mounted during an intensive four-week summer camp at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette.

Question: How would you describe Marcellus?
Jackson Olvera-Rowland: Marcellus is a con man who works with Harold Hill, played by Aaron Brehm.

Q: What has been the best part of camp?
J.O-R.: Probably singing with Cecil Shoemaker. He's a good teacher.

Q: What will an audience enjoy the most in The Music Man Jr.?
J.O-R.: "Shipoopi."

The Music Man Jr. opens Friday, July 29 and runs through Sunday, July 31 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre at the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette.
