In the Wings: The Music Man Jr. Meet John Carlson.

John Carlson plays Winthrop Paroo in The Music Man Jr., the production mounted during an intensive four-week summer camp at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette.

Question: How would you describe Winthrop?
John Carlson: He's quiet and he has a lisp, so it's hard to understand him.

Q: What has been the best part of camp?
J.C.: I liked Halloween Day. Everyone was in costume. I went as Calvin and Hobbes.

Q: What will an audience enjoy the most in The Music Man Jr.?
J.C.: I think the songs.

The Music Man Jr. opens Friday, July 29 and runs through Sunday, July 31 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre at the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette.
