In the Wings: The Music Man Jr. Meet Rachel King.

Rachel King plays Charlie Cowell in The Music Man Jr., the production mounted during an intensive four-week summer camp at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette.

Question: How would you describe Charlie Cowell?
Rachel King: Charlie is the man who is going after Harold Hill, played by Aaron Brehm. He's a traveling salesman who is tired of Hill running him out of town.

Q: What is the best part of camp?
R.K.: Theme days. Those are really fun. We've had Hippie Day, Harry Potter Day and Blue Day.

Q: What will an audience enjoy the most in The Music Man Jr.?
R.K.: I like the song at the beginning of the show, "Rock Island." That's really fun. It's on a train and we get to bounce up and down.

The Music Man Jr. opens Friday, July 29 and runs through Sunday, July 31 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre at the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette.
