In the Wings: Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. Meet Sandy Dubois.

Sandy Dubois plays Mona (Then) in Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, the first production of the 2011-2012 MainStage season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The script is by Ed Graczyk.

Question: Why did you want to be part of Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean?
Sandy Dubois: Rachel Thibault, who plays Edna Louise, was going to audition and she talked me into it.

Q: How would you describe Mona?
S.D.: Mona is a bit overdramatic and craves attention. She's a typical teenage girl. She comes back to town after going to college with a big secret that she's trying to keep from everybody.

Q: What do you think an audience will remember most about Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean?
S.D.: The story is very interesting. There are a lot of twists and turns in the story, and I think people will be surprised by a couple things that happen.

Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean will open Friday, September 9 and run three consecutive weekends through Sunday, September 25 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre at the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday performances begin at 2:30 p.m.
