In the Wings: Rabbit Hole. Meet Asher Trout.

Asher Trout plays Jason Willette in Rabbit Hole, the third show of the 2011-2012 MainStage season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The Pulitzer Prize-winning script is by David Lindsay-Abaire.

Question: Why did you audition for Rabbit Hole?
Asher Trout: I've done a lot of Civic Youth Theatre shows, and I thought it would be cool to be in a MainStage production.

Q: Who is Jason Willette and what is his story?
A.T.: Jason is a kid who's kind of down on his luck, home alone with his mom. One day he's driving around and he accidentally hits Danny Corbett. He's trying to meet with the family and get what happened off his chest.

Q: What will the audience most remember about this production of Rabbit Hole?
A.T.: The interactions between Howie and Becca, played by Neil Radtke and Kate Martin, because they are the most powerful parts of the play, especially at the end of Act 1.

Rabbit Hole opens Friday, January 20 and runs three weekends through Sunday, February 5 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre at the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday shows begin at 2:30 p.m. For more information about the show or to order tickets, call 765-423-PLAY (7529) or visit Civic Theatre's website.
