Announcing auditions for Young Directors Project

Auditions for Young Directors Project, the fourth and final production of the 2011-2012 Civic Youth Theatre season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette, have been announced.

Auditions will be held Sunday, March 11 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Oakland High School, 611 S. 21st Street in Lafayette.

Cody Walker is directing Thornton Wilder's The Happy Journey to Camden and Trenton. He is looking for 2 males, 3 females and either 1 male or female, ages 12-18. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script.

Emily Davis is directing Cosmo Hamilton's Why Cupid Came to Earl's Court. She is looking for 3 males and 4 females, ages 12-18. Those auditioning will be asked to perform a one-minute memorized monologue as well as read from the script. Those auditioning for Phyllis should prepare a comedic monologue, and those auditioning for the cook should demonstrate a Cockney accent.

Scripts are available at the Civic Theatre office, 313 N. 5th Street in downtown Lafayette.

Young Directors Project will open Friday, April 20 and run through Sunday, April 22 in the historic Monon Depot Theatre. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday performances begin at 2:30 p.m.
