In the Wings: Pride and Prejudice. Meet Cody Walker.

Cody Walker plays Sir William Lucas in Pride and Prejudice, the third show of the 2011-2012 Civic Youth Theatre season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The script is by Jon Jory based on the novel by Jane Austen.

Question: Why did you audition for Pride and Prejudice? Did you know the novel before you auditioned?
Cody Walker: I hadn't read the novel before auditions, but since rehearsals began I did read it. I auditioned because I want more experience with classic shows.

Q: How would you describe Sir William Lucas?
C.W.: He is a very rich man who throws two balls a year. Everyone who's anyone shows up to them. He tries to get Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy to dance.

Q: What do you think an audience will enjoy most about the show?
C.W.: They'll really enjoy that it's funny.

Q: Do you believe in love at first sight?
C.W.: I think so, yeah.
