Night of the Living Dead, directed by Neil Radtke.
Auditions: August 19, 3-8 p.m. Oakland High School, 611 S. 21st Street, Lafayette.
Fallout from a satellite probe shot to Venus returns to Earth carrying a mysterious radiation that transforms the unburied dead into flesh-eating zombies. Seven people trapped in an isolated farmhouse, held hostage by the ravenous ghouls, begin to turn on each other as the dead encroach. A gripping terror-filled monochromatic play that brings all the fright of the cult classic to life. This blend of thrilling horror laced with touches of black humor envelops the audience in the action and unfolds into a shocking theatrical ending.
Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, directed by Jessie Searight.
Audition: September 23, 6-8 p.m. September 24, 6-8 p.m. Oakland High School, 611 S. 21st Street, Lafayette.
Lilly loves all sorts of things. She loves school, she loves dressing up, and she even grows to love her "stinky baby brother," Julius. In fact, Lilly loves everything! At least, she loves everything most of the time. Even Lilly has some bad days, but when you have movie star sunglasses and a purple plastic purse, how can can it be?
