The second show of the 2012-2013 Staged Reading Series at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette is Photograph 51 by Anna Ziegler.
Steve Martin directs the cast, which includes Andrea S. B. Yough, David Dietz, Zack Campbell, Zachary Davis, Michael Greenan and Timothy Lewis.
A funny and moving portrait of the unrequited life of Rosalind Franklin, one of the great female scientists of the twentieth century, and her fervid drive to map the contours of the DNA molecule. A chorus of physicists relives the chase, revealing the unsung achievements of this trail-blazing, fiercely independent woman. A play about ambition, isolation, and the race for greatness.
The staged reading of Photograph 51 will be Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the historic Monon Depot Theatre at the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette. There will be a question-and-answer session between the audience, director and cast immediately following the reading.
Audience members are encouraged to pay what they can for admission. General admission tickets are available the night of the staged reading.
The mission of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette is to enhance the artistic and cultural environment of Greater Lafayette through theatrical productions and educational opportunities.
