Announcing the world premieres in the 2012-2013 staged reading series: A Wonderful Suicide and Going Through Hell

During the Staged Reading Series at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette, a script by a local playwright is selected for a world premiere. Two scripts have been chosen for the 2012-2013 Staged Reading Series: A Wonderful Suicide by Diane Littleton Bahler and Going Through Hell by Steve Martin.

The staged readings will be held Tuesday, March 12 and Tuesday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the historic Monon Depot Theatre on the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette. The readings will be Pay What You Can Events. A question-and-answer session with the director, cast and playwright will follow each staged reading.

The Staged Reading Series is in the middle of its sixth year. Other scripts by local playwrights that have received a world premiere in previous years include:
  • Pia Zadora Sings Gershwin by Deborah Gray
  • A Very Bad Day for Brandon Butterworth by Scott Haan
  • In the Weeds by Steve Gooch
  • TILT by Laurie Russell
  • Roman Cokes by Jeff Spanke
  • Puzzles by Laurie Russell
The mission of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette is to enhance the artistic and cultural environment of Greater Lafayette through theatrical productions and educational opportunities.
