Andrea Yough plays Sarah in Company, the fifth and final production of the 2012-2013 MainStage season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim. The book is by George Furth.
Question: Why did you audition for the show?
Andrea Yough: I enjoy musicals. I had never done anything by Sondheim, and it sounded like it would be fun.
Q: What does Bobby get from his friendship with Sarah and Harry, played by Steve Scherer?
A.Y.: I think Bobby observes the advantages and disadvantages of being in a relationship. He sees that it isn't just a disadvantage. He comes to a realization that there's joy to be had.
Q: What will an audience enjoy about Company?
A.Y.: I think they'll enjoy the music a lot and the dancing, too.
Q: What is your favorite Stephen Sondheim song?
A.Y.: I like "Side by Side" from Company.
