Heather Bungard-Janney plays Doña Cuca in El Loro, el Gato y el Espíritu Santo, one of six plays that are part of the inaugural 10-Minute Play Festival at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The play was written and directed by Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos. The festival will be at 7:30 p.m. on June 21-22 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre in downtown Lafayette.
Question: How would you describe Doña Cuca?
Heather Bungard-Janney: She is very, very religious and very, very old. She loves her parrot very, very much.
Q: What is a challenge or a fun part of acting in a ten-minute play that you don't get in a full-length play?
H.B.-J.: The fun part is that so far I've done two plays in nineteen years, and I haven't had to memorize anything. Doña Cuca appears only behind the fence.
Q: Fill in the blank: "In the time it takes me to _____, I could watch a 10-minute play."
H.B.-J.: "brush my teeth"
