In the Wings: A Midsummer Night's Dream. Meet Olivia Tharpe.

Olivia Tharpe plays Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, the first of two summer productions from Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The play is by William Shakespeare.

Question: Who is Titania?
Olivia Tharpe: Titania is Queen of the Fairies. She is very regal. She has a boy; she told a mortal human mother than she would take care of the boy. Oberon, King of the Fairies, also wants the child, so the audience sees them fighting in one of the first scenes.

Q: Why do you like Shakespeare?
O.T.: I like history, so I really like exploring the languages of the past.

Q: What would be a dream come true for you?
O.T.: To be on Broadway in Sweeney Todd.

A Midsummer Night's Dream will run June 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tippecanoe County Amphitheater Park, 4449 State Road 43 North, West Lafayette.

General admission tickets cost $10 per person and can be purchased by visiting or calling 765-423-7529.

The mission of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette is to enhance the artistic and cultural environment of Greater Lafayette through theatrical productions and educational opportunities.
