In the Wings: A Midsummer Night's Dream. Meet Darian Hrdlicka.

Darian Hrdlicka plays Egeus and Snout in A Midsummer Night's Dream, the first of two summer productions from Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The play is by William Shakespeare.

Question: Who is Egeus? Who is Snout?
Darian Hrdlicka: Egeus is Hermia's father. He wants things his way, he's very strict. He doesn’t  like Lysander, who Hermia loves. He wants her to love someone else. Snout is a mechanical. He is distracted easily, and he acts for the fun of it. He doesn't put his heart into it, he just does it for fun.

Q: Why do you like Shakespeare?
D.H.: It's very different from your regular English language.

Q: What would be a dream come true for you?
D.H.: I want to see The Lion King on Broadway.

A Midsummer Night's Dream will run June 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tippecanoe County Amphitheater Park, 4449 State Road 43 North, West Lafayette.

General admission tickets cost $10 per person and can be purchased by visiting or calling 765-423-7529.

The mission of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette is to enhance the artistic and cultural environment of Greater Lafayette through theatrical productions and educational opportunities.
