In the Wings: A Midsummer Night's Dream. Meet Megan Beaver.

Megan Beaver plays Theseus in A Midsummer Night's Dream, the first of two summer productions from Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The play is by William Shakespeare.

Question: Who is Theseus?
Megan Beaver: Theseus is the Duke of Athens, he has power over everyone else in the play. I portray him as a person who wants to keep a tough aspect in public, but he's a very caring person. In the long run, he has feelings for Hippolyta. He didn't just bring her home as a trophy wife.

Q: Why do you like Shakespeare?
M.B.: I enjoy Shakespeare because it gives you a chance to test your acting ability. You have to look at what you're saying and translate it in your head.

Q: What would be a dream come true for you?
M.B.: For my life to progress in a positive way.

A Midsummer Night's Dream will run June 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tippecanoe County Amphitheater Park, 4449 State Road 43 North, West Lafayette.

General admission tickets cost $10 per person and can be purchased by visiting or calling 765-423-7529.

The mission of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette is to enhance the artistic and cultural environment of Greater Lafayette through theatrical productions and educational opportunities.
