In the Wings: Still Kicking. Meet Lee Sullivan.

Lee Sullivan plays Fran in Still Kicking, the first MainStage production in the 2013-2014 season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The play is by Civic Theatre volunteer Laurie Russell.

Question: Why did you audition for Still Kicking?
Lee Sullivan: Well, they needed someone who was old. Yay.

Q: Who is Fran? What is she like?
L.S.: Fran is a very sweet woman who loves everybody. She counterbalances the main old lady in the show, who is Mia, who is not so friendly.

Q: What is the best advice you have received from an older person?
L.S.: I had an eighth grade teacher who told me I should keep busy. And I've learned as I've grown older that when I'm not busy I'm not happy.

Still Kicking opens Friday, August 30 and runs through Saturday, September 14 at the historic Monon Depot Theatre, 320 N. 5th Street, at the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday shows begin at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for youth age 18 and under. Rush tickets may be available before each performance for $8 to students with a valid college or high school I.D. Follow @lafayettecivic on Twitter before each performance to learn about availability for that night's performance.

The mission of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette is to enhance the artistic and cultural environment of Greater Lafayette through theatrical productions and educational opportunities.
