Marylin Howland Ross plays Verndene in Still Kicking, the first MainStage production in the 2013-2014 season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The play is by Civic Theatre volunteer Laurie Russell.
Question: Why did you audition for Still Kicking?
Marylin Howland Ross: There was finally a part that was the right age, and the director Larry Sommers told me, "Come on."
Q: Who is Verndene? What is she like?
M.H.R.: Verndene is a Southern lady, and is just wonderful. She's just in and out, not a very big part of the play, and she can dance.
