Announcing auditions: It's a Wonderful Life, a Radio Play


Director Steven Koehler has announced audition information for It's a Wonderful Life, a Radio Play, the Holiday show in the 2013-2014 season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. Philip Grecian wrote the script, based on the film directed by Frank Capra.

Join the citizens of Bedford Falls in this traditional live radio broadcast style show. Complete with commercials, jingles, live sound effects, George and Mary Bailey, Mr. Potter and all the characters we have grown to love in this Frank Capra classic tale. Celebrate the holidays with the heartwarming tale of redemption and realize that it truly is "A Wonderful Life."

Auditions will be Sunday, October 27 and Monday, October 28 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the stage of the historic Monon Depot Theatre, 320 N. 5th Street – the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette. Actors will be asked to read from the script and possibly sing a short Christmas carol. Callbacks, if needed, will be Tuesday, October 29.

Actors are encouraged to read the full script before auditions. It can be checked out from the Civic Theatre office, 313 N. 5th Street in downtown Lafayette. Actors are asked to arrive as early as possible for one of the two evenings and stay for as much of the two hours as needed.

Steven seeks at least seven (7) men, three (3) women, two (2) boys and two (2) girls.

It's a Wonderful Life will be performed Friday, December 6 through Sunday, December 22 in the historic Monon Depot Theatre, 320 N. 5th Street - on the corner of 5th Street and North Street in downtown Lafayette.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for youth age 18 and under. College and high school students with valid ID can learn about Rush ticket availability before each show by following @LafayetteCivic on Twitter.
