Rick Siler plays Mr. Mayhew in Witness for the Prosecution, the second MainStage production in the 2013-2014 season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. Agatha Christie wrote the script.
Question: Why did you audition for Witness for the Prosecution?
Rick Siler: I hadn't done anything in a long time. I auditioned for this specifically because I'm usually typecast as middle-aged and fatherly. But this is a courtroom drama, and I always wanted to be a lawyer.
Q: Who is Mr. Mayhew? What is he like?
R.S.: He is a solicitor. He is no-nonsense, studious and very organized. He has all his paperwork in his satchel.
Q: What is your favorite mystery?
R.S.: When I was a young man I was hooked on Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine. And a lot of my favorites also happen on trains.
