Question: Why did you audition for 13?
Ariel Laukins: I have worked with Tamzin Malone before, and she's a really fun director. I haven't been in a musical for a while. I saw this one and I thought it would be fun to play someone younger than me.
Q: Who is Patrice?
A.L.: She's a geek. She's one of the biggest losers in the town of Appleton, and no one likes her. She's not cynical, but she's sad and I like being able to play the loser type.
Q: What is the best age, whether you've already reached it or not?
A.L.: 18. Then you can make your decisions without having anyone yell at you, except the police.
