We're previewing the 2014-2015 season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette this week. We're looking now at the MainStage season.
The second production in the 2014-2015 MainStage season will be The Dixie Swim Club by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten. It is a full-length comedy/drama with a cast of five women.
Five Southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other's lives. The Dixie Swim Club focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years.
The show will run Oct. 17 through Nov. 1 in the historic Monon Depot Theatre at 320 N. 5th Street in downtown Lafayette – the corner of 5th Street and North Street. The Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday shows will be at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for youth. For more information, call 765-423-7529.
