Previewing the 2014-2015 MainStage season: "Escanaba in da Moonlight," March 6-21, 2015

We're previewing the 2014-2015 season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette this week. We're looking now at the MainStage season.

The fourth production in the 2014-2015 MainStage season will be Escanaba in da Moonlight by Jeff Daniels. It is a full-length comedy with a cast of five men and one woman.

When the Soady clan reunites for the opening day of deer season at the family's Upper Peninsula camp, thirty-five-year-old Reuben Soady brings with him the infamous reputation of being the oldest Soady in the history of the Soadys never to bag a buck. In a hunting story to beat all hunting stories, Escanaba in da Moonlight spins a hilarious tale of humor, horror and heart as Reuben goes to any and all lengths to remove himself from the wrong end of the family record book.

The show will run March 6-21 in the historic Monon Depot Theatre at 320 N. 5th Street in downtown Lafayette – the corner of 5th Street and North Street. The Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday shows will be at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for youth. For more information, call 765-423-7529.

The mission of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette is to enhance the artistic and cultural environment of Greater Lafayette through theatrical productions and educational opportunities.
