Savanah Ehlers plays Miss Hathaway in The Beverly Hillbillies, the fourth and final show in the 2013-2014 Civic Youth Theatre season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. David Rogers wrote the script based on the television program of the same name by Paul Henning.
Question: Why did you audition for the play?
Savanah Ehlers: I had been in one other Civic show before, Charlotte's Web, and I had a lot of fun with it. I wanted to be in another.
Q: What is fun about your character?
S.E.: Her voice is fun to do. I like how she carries herself, too. She's had it up to here with the entire family.
Q: What is your favorite old-time television series?
S.E.: The Dick Van Dyke Show. It's really funny. The humor is good.
