Charlie Long plays young Patrick in Mame, the fifth and final show in the 2013-2014 MainStage season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. Jerry Herman wrote the music and lyrics. Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee wrote the book based on the novel "Auntie Mame" by Patrick Dennis.
Question: Why did you audition for the musical?
Charlie Long: I auditioned for Lost in Yonkers but didn't get it, so I thought I would try out for Mame.
Q: Who is young Patrick and what is he like?
C.L.: He is Mame's nephew. His parents died and he has to live with his Auntie Mame.
Q: What makes your life a banquet?
C.L.: I like Legos a lot, they're fun and I use them a lot. I have a ravine in my backyard and I sometimes walk around in that.
