Nathan Bechtold plays Thomas in Answers from Ashes, one of seven plays that are part of the second annual 10-Minute Play Festival at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. It was written by Shane Guenin.
Question: What is Thomas like at the beginning of the play?
Nathan Bechtold: He's down. He's been studying the same thing over and over and over to the point of monotony. He's trying to figure out what's going on in his life. It seems to him that other people are figuring out the mysteries of the universe. He's also a little high strung.
Q: What is a challenge or something exciting about acting in a 10-minute play?
N.B.: I don't do a lot of line memorization anymore. With my job and other things overlapping, it's a challenge to memorize lines and organize them. The pleasure of working on a 10-minute play is that it's short and sweet.
Q: Fill in the blank: "In the time it takes me to _____, I could watch a 10-minute play."
N.B.: "take a shower"
