James Koehler plays Joshua Sausage in KiKi Pineapple and Her New Best Friends Victor Mango and Inez Cupcakes Starring In "Saving the World!" one of seven plays that are part of the second annual 10-Minute Play Festival at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. It was written by Steve Martin.
Question: Who is Joshua Sausage?
James Koehler: He's an odd character, he's different from the rest. He's a year older than the other kids. He kind of struggles and he doesn't know what to do. He wants to be with the cool kids, which is Anna Macadamia. KiKi is the weird one. Inside he's a completely different person. He's a nice, caring guy.
Q: What is a challenge or something exciting about acting in a 10-minute play?
J.K.: You get together, and you get a script then you have a week to put it together on the run. That makes it harder a little bit, but it makes it more fun because it's more of a challenge. Challenges are important in life.
Q: Fill in the blank: "In the time it takes me to _____, I could watch a 10-minute play."
J.K.: "eat a large adult meal at McDonald's"
