In the Wings: A Wrinkle in Time. Meet Andrew Bigelow.

Andrew Bigelow plays Calvin O'Keefe in A Wrinkle in Time, the first show in the 2014-2015 Civic Youth Theatre season at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. The play is based on Madeleine L'Engle's classic fantasy novel.

Question: Who is Calvin O'Keefe? What does he want?
Andrew Bigelow: Calvin is a 14-year-old boy who's athletic, but not the smartest kid. He likes having fun, but doesn't exactly understand everything. He doesn't have anything he wants to do at the beginning. He runs in to the Murry kids and then he's taken along on their journey.

Q: What is fun or exciting about the story of "A Wrinkle in Time"?
A.B.: Mrs. Whatsit changes into an animal, and that's pretty cool. Not everyone can do that, but she can.

Q: What is your favorite science fiction or fantasy book, movie, TV show or character?
A.B.: Definitely "Doctor Who." I used to live in the U.K., and I was introduced to it when I lived there. I've been in love with it every since.

A Wrinkle in Time runs Friday, September 26 through Sunday, September 28 at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette, 320 N. 5th Street in downtown Lafayette. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday show begins at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for youth age 18 and under. Call 765-423-7529 or visit http://lafayettecivic.tix.com to learn about ticket availability or to purchase tickets in advance.
