The fourth staged reading of the 2014-2015 Staged Reading Series is Bruce Norris' Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning "Clybourne Park." It will be performed Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette, 320 N. 5th Street in downtown Lafayette – the corner of 5th Street and North Street.
It is a Pay What You Can event. It will be immediately followed by a question-and-answer session between the audience, the cast, the director and a panel.
"Clybourne Park" explodes in two outrageous acts set fifty years apart. Act One takes place in 1959, as nervous community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family. Act Two is set in the same house in the present day, as the now predominantly African-American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification.
Jolivette Anderson-Douoning directs the cast, which includes Eric Thiel, Faith Smith, Ebony Barrett-Kennedy, Cameron Bumbleburg, Bill Caise, Evan Malone, Stacy Winter and Tamzin Malone.
