Announcing auditions: "Escanaba in da Moonlight"

Director Steve Becker has announced audition information for Jeff Daniels' "Escanaba in da Moonlight," the fifth and final show in the 2014-2015 MainStage season at Civic Theatre of GreaterLafayette.

When the Soady clan reunites for the opening day of deer season at the family's Upper Peninsula camp, thirty-five-year-old Reuben Soady brings with him the infamous reputation of being the oldest Soady in the history of the Soadys never to bag a buck. In a hunting story to beat all hunting stories, Escanaba in da Moonlight spins a hilarious tale of humor, horror and heart as Reuben goes to any and all lengths to remove himself from the wrong end of the family record book.

Steve seeks to cast 5 men for the following roles:

* Albert Soady (father) - aged 50-70
* Reuben Soady (older son) - aged 30-45
* Remnar Soady (younger son) - aged 30-45
* Jimmer - ageless
* Ranger Tom - aged 35-60

Auditions will be 7-9 p.m. on Monday, February 16 and Tuesday, February 17 at the Civic Theatre office, 313 N. 5th Street in downtown Lafayette.

Those auditioning will be asked to reading from the script.

Please arrive at the theatre before 7 p.m. and be prepared to stay as long as necessary.
